9/16/23 . Saturday fun race! We didn’t make it to the finals but despite bowing out early, we are so proud of ourselves because we were able to participate in the sports mix division and we didn’t stop, our boat didn’t capsize and we were able to reach the finish line. We want to extend our gratitude to the following paddlers who were present at the event: Saundra, Isabel, Maria D., Belinda, Dayana, Daniel, James, Johnny, Jenny, Louise, Perry, Liliam, Henry, Erin, Gilma, and Sanju. Special shout out to Eileen, Good Jean, and our NYWSD family and friends. PFC would have never gone this far without their support and dedication. We also want to give a big thank you to Carolyn of GWN for her guidance and James of NYPD for helping us fill the rest of the team with Olivia, Jeffrey, Allan, Don, and Jesus. Thank you, everyone! We live, we race here, we save lives here. Let’s keep paddling for the cure! |

Last September 2, we were getting ready to race at the Mercer County Dragonboat Festival, our first tournament racing under Sports mix division. Such a big shift for us in that division but as long as we are together we will be bruised but we will never be BEATEN. It takes courage and with a brave heart to take the challenge as we thrust ahead. Paddlers that showed up that day were : Steve, James, Daniel, Louise, Isabel, Perry, Liliam, Henry, Jabbar, Maria D, Saundra, Gilma, Karen, John, and Sherry. We were happy that one breast cancer survivor joined our PFC family as one of our paddle sisters. A big shout out to our Steerer, Good Jean and thank you to Kiara for coaching us. Thankful and grateful to our NYWSD family because without their guidance and support, we have never gone this far. |

PFC Powerhouse Leah, our president, and Joel Quirk, our PFC treasurer. Holding our memorabilia to send to EHC as Leah’s legacy to leave to Elmhurst Hospital where she was treated before as a Breast Cancer patient. Thank you to Helen Arteaga Landaverde, CEO of Elmhurst Hospital for her unwavering support for PFC. She’s our angel because she truly believes in the authenticity of our works. Your belief in us brings so much power in our system. Also, we received our 1st plaque awarded to us by the Hongkong Dragonboat Festival for our participation as part of non-profit organization invitational A in which we won 2nd place. |

PFC and WILD NY donated our Bowl for Hope T-shirts at The Hope Pavilion Cancer Clinic and Leah our founder felt so much joy seeing Erika and Sheila who wrapped her with the blanket of love during her treatment as Breast cancer patient of EHC before. After all these years, EHC is still her home away from home. |

Our President/Founder Leah Salmorin has always been vocal about being a force for good to others and she has recently been featured in a news interview regarding the fare increases in the MTA. We are blessed to have a leader like her and we are confident that we are guided by a relentless leader with a mind of a dragon and heart of a lion. |
